6th International Underwater Research Symposium - Antalya/Kemer 17-20 maggio 2012



Il Golfo di Antalya si conferma un punto di grande interesse nel panorama attuale della ricerca archeologica subacquea in Turchia: oltre ad essere oggetto di importanti indagini sottomarine, infatti, l'area ospita per la sesta volta l'International Underwater Research Symposium, interessante momento di confronto tra ricercatori, archeologi, biologi, medici iperbarici e studiosi del mare  sui temi della valorizzazione del patrimonio sommerso e dello sviluppo che da esso può scaturire. L'iniziativa è organizzata dalla GAMA - General Association of Mediterranean Archaeology (coinvolta anche nei maxiconvegni SOMA, l'ultimo dei quali, a Firenze, ha visto la partecipazione di oltre 250 specialisti) col supporto della Eastern Mediterranean University, della DAN e di numerosi enti locali.
Quest'anno la sede ufficiale dell'evento sarà Kemer, cittadina turistica affacciata su un mare cristallino e ricco di storia; alle giornate ufficiali dei lavori, previste per il 17 e 18 maggio, si affiancheranno mostre, presentazioni di filmati e documentari e momenti di immersione per tutti coloro che avranno voglia di vedere in prima persona le meraviglie del mare di Turchia.

The Symposium is scheduled to be held on May 17-20, 2012 at Kemer of
Antalya-Turkey. It aims to foster interaction among all concerned
academicians, practitioners, and researchers from different
disciplines working on underwater science and research. Furthermore,
it is anticipated to provide a platform for exchange of scientific and
technical information and experiences among participants.
